TAMPA, FL — May 2026 — Thorpe Specialty Services ("Thorpe" or the "Company"), a leading maintenance and engineering solutions provider of corrosion, refractory, and scaffolding & insulation services, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of PlasTech Services, Inc. ("PlasTech") of Baltimore, MD. PlasTech provides reoccurring specialty corrosion solutions and mechanical maintenance services to the aerospace & defense, chemical, wastewater, power, and other industrial end markets along the Eastern Seaboard. PlasTech marks the Company’s fourth strategic acquisition and brings the combined companies to approach 1,550 team members, including over 1,185 skilled field personnel across its 15 regional branches operating across the Gulf Coast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Mountain West, and Canada.
Founded in 1988, PlasTech provides mechanical maintenance for secured customer facilities and specialty corrosion protection for industrial environments, focusing on fiberglass reinforced plastic ("FRP") services, including tank repairs and relines, pipe repair and installation, plastic welding, protective coatings, and mechanical contracting services within its customers' facilities.
Kevin Lefebvre, President of PlasTech, stated, “PlasTech has always been built around our people, our customers, and doing the job safely and correctly. As we looked at the next chapter for the business, Thorpe stood out as a partner that understands our work and shares the same approach. Thorpe brings the scale, field resources, and complementary service capabilities to help us do even more for our customers, while staying true to what has made us successful.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Kevin, Joe, Rob, and the entire PlasTech team to Thorpe,” said Jeff Jones, CEO of Thorpe. “PlasTech has developed a differentiated position in the Mid-Atlantic through its specialized corrosion capabilities, mechanical maintenance expertise, and long-standing relationships with its customers. Together, we’ll be able to expand our service offerings, share technical and labor resources, and continue building a broader specialty services platform focused on safety, quality, and customer responsiveness.”
In September 2022, KLH Capital partnered with Thorpe to recapitalize and continue the growth path of the Company. “PlasTech has built a strong business around specialized, recurring maintenance work for customers who value safety, responsiveness, and know-how,” said James Darnell, Managing Partner at KLH Capital. “We’re excited to support Thorpe in its next phase of growth, as the addition of PlasTech expands the Company’s reach into the Mid-Atlantic, adds meaningful exposure to the aerospace & defense end market, and further strengthens Thorpe’s corrosion capabilities.”
