ElectriCom Completes Acquisition of DataWatt

Paoli, IN – June 2020 – ElectriCom (or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of DataWatt Solutions (or “DataWatt”), a fiber optics installation and maintenance business based in Linwood, North Carolina.  The acquisition strengthens ElectriCom’s presence in the Carolinas and brings on board a diverse group of new customers, experienced employees, and increased mix of maintenance and emergency restoration sales.

Founded in 1998, DataWatt provides high-quality installation, maintenance, and emergency restoration services of fiber optic networks to carriers, governmental agencies, municipalities, universities, state-wide organizations, and large enterprise corporations across North and South Carolina.  “DataWatt’s reputation for high-quality work and emphasis on customer service align perfectly with our business and we are thrilled to welcome their team to the ElectriCom family,” said Kevin Mason, President of ElectriCom.  “The acquisition solidifies our position as one of the leading providers of utility infrastructure services in the industry and allows us to better serve our growing customer base.”

In April 2019, KLH Capital partnered with ElectriCom to support its plans to grow via acquisitions.  “We are excited about the DataWatt acquisition because it is exactly the type of business we were looking to add,” explained Will Dowden, Partner at KLH Capital.  “It brings a ton of strategic value and is a great cultural fit.”

“We are grateful to KLH Capital for its role and expertise in this transaction,” added Kevin Mason, President of ElectriCom.  “They were instrumental throughout the entire process from identifying the opportunity all the way through to the closing of the transaction.  It was a lot of work, and we couldn’t have done it without them.”

Since its founding in 1960, ElectriCom has become a leading provider of aerial, underground, wireless, and right-of-way installation and maintenance services to the telecommunications and utility industries across the United States.  Under Mr. Mason’s leadership, ElectriCom has significantly expanded its operations to encompass a large geographic territory from the Midwest to the Southeast, growing its employee base organically to support customer demand.   ElectriCom seeks to acquire additional businesses that add strategic value to its operations and match its customer-centric culture.

DataWatt Solutions was advised by Newport, LLC. First Financial Bank provided financing for the acquisition, and Frost Brown Todd, LLC served as legal counsel to ElectriCom.
